Troubleshooting Advanced

When I opened a game, I received the following error message: “Can Not Open Video Device.” What does this mean?

First, make sure that you have not opened multiple Falcon games at the same time. If you have opened the same Falcon game multiple times so that they are running simultaneously, or if you have opened 2 or more different Falcon games at once, please close all but one. (Please note that this does not refer to N VeNT. N VeNT can and must be open at the same time as any Falcon game).

If you only have one Falcon game open at a time and yet the error persists, try resetting your Falcon. If this does not solve the problem, your 3D video accelerator may need to be enabled.

Procedure to verify and enable your 3D video accelerator:

Ensure that the power supply is plugged in and that the Falcon is connected to your computer with the USB cable.
Exit out of N VeNT
Right-click on the Desktop and select Properties
Click the Settings tab then click the Advanced button near the bottom right of the Properties window
Click the Troubleshoot tab
Move the Hardware Acceleration slider to Full
Put a check mark in the Enable Write Combining box, then click Apply
Restart the computer
Be certain that the Falcon is connected to a USB port on the back of the computer and that the AC power supply is plugged in.
Restart N VeNT and launch a game.
